UBTech and UVU announces articulation transferability for students

Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) and Utah Valley University (UVU) are pleased to announce additional higher education opportunities for UBTech students through course-to-course articulation agreements, which broadens a student’s ability to continue their educational pursuit with a degree granting institution in the State of Utah.
Articulation agreements create a seamless pathway from one school to another. UBTech students will be able to transfer agreed upon coursework from UBTech and receive degree granting credit at UVU.
Agreements with UVU in place include course-to-course transferability in the areas of Automotive Technology, Cabinetry, Civil Drafting Technician, Construction, Heavy Duty Diesel, and Information Technology Courses.

Similar to existing stackable agreements with Utah State University, UVU will also accept transfer credit from a UBTech 900+ hour certificate. Students can earn 30 credits toward UVU’s Associate of Applied Science in Technology or a Bachelor of Science in Technology Management.
“We are happy to announce additional educational pathways for UBTech students,” said UBTech President, Aaron K. Weight. “Our goal is to provide students with an understanding of all educational opportunities available to them in the State of Utah. We desire students to be successful no matter their career aspiration or educational pursuit.”
“It has been exciting to see the progress as we open doors of opportunity for students. When we began this process UVU evaluated UBTech’s curriculum, met with faculty, and agreed that UBTech coursework aligned with UVU’s coursework,” added UBTech Vice President of Instructional Services, Tammy Wilkerson.
“We are just getting started. There are more course-to-course articulation agreements coming soon. In fact, Culinary Arts, Practical Nursing, and Civil Drafting Technician also have pending agreements with UVU,” Vice President Wilkerson adds.
“These new pathways will allow greater numbers of students to complete meaningful credentials in a timely and efficient manner,” said Utah Valley University President, Dr. Astrid S. Tuminez.
“Together, UBTech and UVU are helping prepare students to lead productive and dignified lives. What a wonderful mission for both our institutions,” President Tuminez adds.
