
Help UBTech’s SkillsUSA Competitors attend the National Leadership and Skills Competition in Atlanta, GA, by attending the UBTech SkillsUSA Sponsorship Banquet. There will be dinner, both a live and silent auction, as well as a raffle. The cost to attend is $25 per person, or $150 for an eight-person table. All proceeds will support UBTech Gold Medalists’ travel to Atlanta for national competition.

Service Lot #1 – Team Building Workshop (Multicultural Sensitivity)
Service Details – Your team (up to 20) will be invited to Uintah Basin Technical College for a two-hour team-building workshop with snacks and drinks provided. Learn techniques for communicating with a multi-generational workforce, how to identify individual strengths to improve problem-solving, and how to build trust between team members. Provided by Ashlynn Bascom.
Service Lot #2 – Auto Oil Change (Responsibility)
Service Details – An oil change on any gas vehicle. Includes draining and replacing oil and changing air and oil filters. Provided by Shane Riley. ***Buyer responsible for purchasing oil and filters. *** 5 spots available
Service Lot #3 – Custom Chicken Coop (Planning, Organizing, and Management)
Service Details – You will work with a stellar student to design a custom set of chicken coop plans, up to 25 square feet, which will be built at a location of your choosing (within the Uintah Basin). Provided by Ethan Bowden. ***Buyer responsible for purchasing materials. ***
Service Lot #4 – Cleaning Services 10-Hours – (Self-Motivation)

Service Lot #6 – First Aid/CPR Workshop (Safety and Health)
Service Details – Your team (up to 20) will be invited to Uintah Basin Technical College for a two-hour First Aid/CPR workshop with snacks and drinks provided. Learn basic first aid skills to recognize the signs of shock, stop bleeding, stabilize injuries, and provide resuscitation measures until professional medical help arrives. Provided by Brianne Bird.
Service Lot #7 – Toy Tune-Up (Decision Making)
Service Details – Service – Get your SxS, motorcycle, ATV or UTV ready for summer with a tune-up! Service will include TBD. Provided by Ayden Stratz.
Service Lot #8 – Office Internship – (Professionalism)
Service Details – A full 10-hour day of labor in an office setting, preferably in a health professions-related setting. Open to tasks such as filing, organizing, classifying, sorting inventory, or cleaning. Provided by Feranda Clement.
Service Lot #9 – General Labor – (Work Ethic)
Service Details – Put this young man to work! Anything from yard work to construction, to fencing, he can do it all! Load up a 10-hour day with as many general labor duties as you need. Provided by Jarek Holmes.
Service Lot #10 – Technical Support (Service Orientation)
Service Details – Up to 10 hours of IT and technical support, including PC clean-up, virus removal, peripheral device driver updates, and more! Provided by Dmitry Simmons.

Ashlynn Bascom – A recent high school graduate who has served in the SkillsUSA chapter leadership for four (4) years, and the SkillsUSA state leadership for three (3). She competed in the 2023 Utah Leadership & Skills Conference and placed 4th in Job Interview. She will be attending NLSC as a voting delegate. She has taken business, health profession, cabinetry and carpentry classes at UBTech and received her Office Technician and Construction Technology certificates.
Shane Riley – A recent graduate of Union who has served in the chapter leadership this year. He competed at NLSC in 2022 in Power Equipment Technology, placing 4th. This year, he will once again represent Utah in the same competition. He has taken construction, automotive, and welding courses at UBTech, and is a graduate with his Tire and Lube and Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair certificates.
Ethan Bowden – A recent high school graduate who has served in the SkillsUSA chapter leadership for two years. He placed 2nd at ULSC in 2021, 1st at ULSC in 2022 and attended NLSC placing 4th. This summer, he will once again attend NLSC as the 2023 ULSC Carpentry champion. He is a jack of all trades, and a UBTech graduate with Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair, and Construction Technology certificates.
Emily Caldwell – An upcoming high school senior who has taken multiple health profession courses at UBTech and is the 23-24 President of the Honor Society. She attended the 2022 ULSC and placed 1st in Medical Terminology – a 200 question written test based on all common (and no-so-common) medical terms. She will be representing Utah for the first time at NLSC in June.
Gage Campbell – A recent graduate of Uintah who is currently employed with Strata Networks. He has participated in the SkillsUSA chapter leadership the past year, and attended NLSC in 2022 competing in IT Service Technology. This year, he and a teammate are representing Utah as the Cyber Security state champions. He is a UBTech graduate with an IT Support Technician certificate and is currently enrolled in Network Technician.
Brianne Bird – A recent high school graduate who competed in the 2023 Utah Leadership & Skills Conference. After bringing home the gold medal in Nurse Assisting, she has been preparing to attend NLSC in June. She has taken UBTech classes in health professions, cabinetry, carpentry, and automotive fields. She passed all state testing to become a Certified Nurse Assistant in 2022.
Ayden Stratz – An upcoming senior at Uintah, he participated in SkillsUSA for the first time this year, taking gold in Motorcycle Service Technology. He will attend NLSC to represent the state in June. He is a UBTech graduate with Tire & Lube, and Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair certificates.
Feranda Clement – A recent high school graduate who completed her CNA in 2022 at UBTech. She participated in SkillsUSA for the first time this year and returned from ULSC with a gold medal in Basic Health Care Skills. Her trip to Atlanta in June will be her first time flying!
Jarek Holmes – An upcoming high school senior who was actively involved in SkillsUSA for the first time this year. As the younger brother of former National Carpentry Champion – Taydn Holmes – he has seen the benefits of SkillsUSA firsthand. He competed at 2022 ULSC despite injuries sustained from a snowmobile accident the week before, and still placed 5th. He was voted into the state officer leadership and will attend NLSC as a voting delegate. He has taken construction, drafting, and welding courses at UBTech and graduated with his Construction Technology certificate.
Dmitry Simmons – An upcoming high school, he participated in SkillsUSA for the first time this year by placing gold in Cyber Security. He and his teammate will represent NLSC in June. He is a UBTech graduate with an IT Support Technician certificate and is currently enrolled in Network Technician.
Brenden VanDyke – A post-secondary student who participated in ULSC as a senior and earned a bronze in Motorcycle Service Technology. He returned this year to take a gold in the same competition. He is a UBTech graduate with an Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair certificate and has just graduated the Auto Technology certificate program.
EmmaLyn Day – A recent high school graduate who received her UBTech Cabinetry certificate this year, along with being named the Trade and Technical Education Sterling Scholar. She has been a SkillsUSA chapter officer this past year, and was awarded the gold medal at ULSC for her 7-minute prepared speech and will represent the state at NLSC in June.
Ronald Salguero Suchite – An upcoming high school senior, he competed in ULSC for the first time this year in Automotive Service Technology, placing gold to represent the state at NLSC. He has taken automotive, drafting, and welding courses at UBTech and is a graduate with Tire and Lube, and Auto Maintenance and Light Repair certificates.
Alegna Hanberg – An upcoming high school who has served in the SkillsUSA chapter leadership the past year. She competed in Pin Design at ULSC, placing 4th. She was also voted in as the youngest-ever SkillsUSA state officer at only 14-years old and will take her first-ever flight this summer to attend NLSC. She has taken Diesel and Welding classes at UBTech and plans to continue welding through the summer.
Gage Jessen – Participating for the first time in SkillsUSA, this post-secondary student easily took the gold medal at ULSC in IT Support Technician and will represent Utah at NLSC in June. He is a graduate of UBTech with his IT Support Technician certificate, is currently enrolled in Network Technician, and employed with Strata Networks.
Kolby Winterton – A recent high school graduate who jumped in last minute to help the Teamworks team at ULSC last year, took gold, and attended NLSC for the first time. This year, he will head to Atlanta as the Utah Cabinetmaking champion. He has been enrolled in welding and cabinetry programs, and is a UBTech graduate with a Cabinetry certificate.
