Historic UBTech commencement graduates 485 Written by, UBTech Uintah Basin Technical College virtually celebrated 485 students on Facebook, YouTube and on Channel V6 website during the college’s first ever on-line graduation ceremonies. During the virtual UBTech commencement exercises, 539 technical certificates were displayed individually on the screen to highlight each graduate. The unique graduation was the result of the Coronavirus pandemic, which put a halt to the school year throughout Utah and much of the nation in mid-March. COVID-19 Updates April 8, 2021 Dear UBTech Community, On March 24, 2021, Governor Spencer Cox signed House Bill 294, terminating the statewide mask mandate effective April 10, 2021. Beginning April 12, 2021, masks will be encouraged and welcomed, but no longer required at a UBTech campus. At UBTech the health and well-being of our faculty, staff and students remain our highest priority. We ask all faculty, staff, students, and visitors on campus to remain vigilant in continuing positive hygiene practices, social distancing, and staying home if you are feeling ill. A Christmas Gift to UBTech From The You Got This Foundation Just in time for Christmas, You Got This (YGT) Foundation President, Chris Anderton, came to UBTech on a surprise visit and signed a contract, doubling their scholarship contribution to the college. Just over a year ago, YGT committed $20,000 over a 10 year period of time, to UBTech, providing scholarships in support of basic skills training for students attending the college. The new contract guarantees a minimum contribution of $40,000 over the next 10 years. Basic skills help students pass the requirements to enroll in UBTech certificate programs. [...]
