Leigh Lloyd named Educator of the Year by UBTech Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) has announced their selection of UBTech Medical Assistant instructor, Leigh Lloyd, as their Educator of the Year. “Leigh was chosen because of her hard work and efforts to provide students with quality education.” Said UBTech President Aaron K. Thirteen UBTech students compete at Nationals SkillsUSA Written by, UBTech Uintah Basin Technical College sent 13 students to Louisville, Kentucky recently to represent the college and the state of Utah at the Nationals SkillsUSA competition. This event occupies a space equivalent to 20 football fields, with more than 6,200 contestants testing their skills in over 100 separate events. Simplot Receives UBTech Connectivity Award Submitted by, UBTech Jared Jackson, Simplot Phosphate mine manager and Andrea Smith, Simplot human resource administrator attended the June Uintah Basin Technical College board meeting to receive a special award. Strata Networks Pledges $135,000 for Technology Training Program Written by, STRATA (Roosevelt, Utah)— April 9, 2018 – STRATA Networks announced today that they have pledged to donate $135,000 to UBTech to help fund a technology-based training program for students in the Uintah Basin. STRATA’s donation will be awarded over a three-year period with $30,000 being contributed annually to help fund equipment and operational costs, and an additional $15,000 per year to be awarded in scholarships. New Programs at UBTech UBTech is gearing up for the start of the new school year by bringing four new programs to students and job seekers in the Uintah Basin. The new programs are open to adults and secondary students and include: Surgical Technologist, IT Support Technician, Network Technician, and Security Technician.
