That’s the message that the administration and faculty at Uintah Basin Technical College are affirming as they accept the 2030 vision of UBTech President Aaron K. Weight to substantially increase the number of certificates awarded by the college. Weight’s 8-year 2030 challenge calls for 1,000 certificates annually to be awarded to qualified candidates by 2030 to further promote economic development in the Uintah Basin. UBTech Announces Labrum Pump Repair Partnership By Dylan Larino Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) is happy to announce Labrum Pump Repair as their newest scholarship partner. Labrum Pump Repair’s contributions fund a new scholarship for first-generation students. Labrum Pump Repair is a long-standing Uintah Basin business specializing in chemical injection systems for the oil and gas industry.  It is owned and operated by Ted Labrum, whose family has called the Uintah Basin home for five generations. UBTech sets a record at national SkillsUSA contest  By Stephanie Carter Uintah Basin Technical College students continue to be innovative examples of perseverance, participating in the first-ever virtual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Competition. UBTech had a final medal count of 18 from the Utah SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills competition. UBTech students brought home nine gold medals, seven silvers, and two bronze. Mark Dockins Named New Vice President of Instructional Services at UBTech After the conclusion of a nationwide search with over 50 qualified applicants from throughout the United States, Mark Dockins has been named Vice President of Instructional Services at Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) effective January 1, 2022.   Dockins is currently serving as the Vice President of Development at UBTech. UPDATED: 4.27.21 Uintah Basin Technical College students proved to be innovative examples of perseverance while participating in the first-ever virtual SkillsUSA Utah Leadership and Skills Competition. Historic UBTech commencement graduates 485 Written by, UBTech Uintah Basin Technical College virtually celebrated 485 students on Facebook, YouTube and on Channel V6 website during the college’s first ever on-line graduation ceremonies. During the virtual UBTech commencement exercises, 539 technical certificates were displayed individually on the screen to highlight each graduate. The unique graduation was the result of the Coronavirus pandemic, which put a halt to the school year throughout Utah and much of the nation in mid-March.
