UBTech partners with Finley Resources & Uintah Wax and others on innovative CDL program By Stephanie Carter Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) has announced that Finley Resources and Uinta Wax have partnered with the College to fund and establish an Advanced Energy Transportation program. This new initiative will provide existing CDL drivers with advanced training to transport black and yellow wax from Utah's Uintah Basin. That’s the message that the administration and faculty at Uintah Basin Technical College are affirming as they accept the 2030 vision of UBTech President Aaron K. Weight to substantially increase the number of certificates awarded by the college. Labrum Pump Repair’s contributions fund a new scholarship for first-generation students. Labrum Pump Repair is a long-standing Uintah Basin business specializing in chemical injection systems for the oil and gas industry.  It is owned and operated by Ted Labrum, whose family has called the Uintah Basin home for five generations. UBTech sets a record at national SkillsUSA contest  By Stephanie Carter Uintah Basin Technical College students continue to be innovative examples of perseverance, participating in the first-ever virtual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Competition. UBTech had a final medal count of 18 from the Utah SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills competition. UBTech students brought home nine gold medals, seven silvers, and two bronze. UBTech’s medal count tied with the much larger Utah Valley University for the highest medal count from a higher education institution. Mark Dockins Named New Vice President of Instructional Services at UBTech After the conclusion of a nationwide search with over 50 qualified applicants from throughout the United States, Mark Dockins has been named Vice President of Instructional Services at Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) effective January 1, 2022.   Dockins is currently serving as the Vice President of Development at UBTech. UPDATED: 4.27.21 Uintah Basin Technical College students proved to be innovative examples of perseverance while participating in the first-ever virtual SkillsUSA Utah Leadership and Skills Competition.
