Coyote Tanks and UBTech Create a Partnership to Empower Welding Students and Bolster Workforce Development

Coyote Tanks, a welding fabrication company, is excited to announce an impactful collaboration with Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) that will not only support aspiring welding professionals but also foster a stronger connection between education and industry.

This collaboration, which encompasses scholarships, industry mentorship, and material donations, demonstrates Coyote Tanks’ commitment to nurturing talent while addressing the workforce needs of tomorrow.

Having a history tracing back to 2011, Coyote Tanks has undergone evolution, while its present President, Doug Reynolds, marks a decade with the company. Headquartered in Vernal, Coyote Tanks caters to the Uintah Basin area and extends its services to clients in Colorado and Wyoming.

Specializing in steel fabrication and manufacturing, Coyote Tanks produces storage tanks for the oil and gas industry along with associated components such as stairs, walkways, and tank heaters. With a current workforce of 36 employees, Coyote Tanks is actively seeking to expand its team by 12 more members. Recognizing the need for skilled welders, the company is turning to UBTech to help fulfill this demand.

“Our partnership with UBTech aims to bridge the gap between education and industry by leveraging the welding program’s graduates to meet our workforce requirements,” explained Reynolds. Coyote Tanks has a track record of successful collaboration with UBTech alumni, which has spurred the company’s commitment to nurturing this relationship further.

One of the most significant aspects of this collaboration is the establishment of scholarships exclusively for UBTech welding students. These scholarships will not only provide financial support but will also open doors to valuable industry connections. Coyote Tanks will also contribute materials and supplies, enriching the hands-on training experience for students.

“We are thrilled about this partnership’s potential to benefit students,” remarked Welding Instructor, Chandler Vincent. “Coyote Tanks is exemplifying the value of close ties between local industries and higher education. Doug Reynolds’ expertise will extend beyond financial support as he actively engages with students, sharing insights and hands-on welding techniques.”

irectly applicable to the demands of Coyote Tanks. This initiative aligns with our commitment to nurturing talent that meets industry standards.”

“Coyote Tanks embodies the collaboration between private industry and higher education to support workforce development,” emphasized UBTech President Aaron Weight. “This partnership is a testament to Doug Reynolds’ belief in our education process and its potential to fuel the growth of Coyote Tanks, contributing to the region’s economic prosperity.”
