UBTech Shines at SkillsUSA Claiming 28 Medals By, Lezlee Whiting Twenty-eight students from Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) medaled recently at the 2019 SkillsUSA Utah Leadership and Skills Competition. UBTech campuses sent 72 students to compete at the state level with 28 placing in the top three in their respective fields. New State-Of-The-Art Welding Facility to Open Doors in March Submitted by, UBTech Over the past five years, Uintah Basin Technical College’s welding programs in Roosevelt and Vernal have served more than 2,000 students. UBTech’s Intercampus Contest Sharpen Skills By, Stephanie Carter & Lezlee Whiting UBTech recently held a regional SkillsUSA Competition at the Vernal campus. Students from both campuses competed against each other to hone skills they have learned in their respective Automotive, Welding, and Carpentry programs. Local industry also participated in these competitions by assisting as judges and donating prizes. Welding students competed as individuals in beginning and advanced divisions.
