UBTech and Big 4 Services Partner to Expand Scholarship Opportunities for Uintah Basin Students
Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) and Big 4 Services, LLC are proud to announce a new partnership focused on expanding educational opportunities through scholarships for local students. Rooted in a shared commitment to strengthening the Uintah Basin, this collaboration reflects both organizations’ dedication to investing in the people and future of the community they call home.
Big 4 Services’ story is deeply connected to the Basin. Originally founded in 2001 by Bill Martin, Blinn Tenney, and Craig Hart as an oil and gas cementing company, the business quickly established a strong local presence. In 2007, the company was acquired by ProPetro Services, marking a period of expansion that allowed operations to grow into additional areas.
In a full-circle moment, some of the original leadership team members reestablished Big 4 Services, LLC in 2024 by acquiring the local ProPetro operations, returning ownership and focus to the Basin. Today, the company employs approximately 60 individuals and continues to play a key role in the region’s energy sector, providing essential downhole cementing services for oil and gas operations.
As a locally driven company with strong ties to the community, Big 4 Services has chosen to invest directly in the next generation of the Basin’s workforce. Through this partnership, the company is funding scholarships specifically for Uintah Basin residents, helping remove financial barriers and opening doors to technical education at UBTech.
“I was born and raised here, and this community means everything to us,” Beau Tenney, CEO of Big 4 Services, said. “We’re proud to support local students in any way we can and help continue building the Uintah Basin as a place where people want to live, work, and build their future.”
“It’s because of partnerships and scholarships like these that local students are able to pursue a college education,” echoed UBTech President Aaron Weight. “When industry steps forward to invest in education, it strengthens not only individual lives, but the future of our entire region.”
The partnership is a natural extension of UBTech’s mission to work hand-in-hand with industry to prepare a skilled workforce while supporting economic growth in the Uintah Basin. By aligning educational opportunities with real workforce needs, collaborations like this ensure that students can transition seamlessly from training into meaningful careers—many of them right here at home.

Big 4 Services, a locally owned company providing downhole cementing services for oil and gas operations across the Uintah Basin, is partnering with UBTech to invest in the region’s future workforce. The company’s new scholarship contribution will help local students access technical education and career opportunities close to home.
