     UBTech offers three automotive certificate programs: Tire and Lube Technician, Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair, and Auto Technology. In November 2025, Research.com recognized UBTech’s Automotive programs as the top-ranked Automotive Technician Training program in the state of Utah. 

      Tire and Lube Technician is an entry-level program designed for automotive-minded students, enabling them to learn the skills essential to enter the field of automotive preventative services. Lube Technicians have entry-level skills in a variety of service areas. Graduates will be employable in a variety of entry-level positions. Courses in this program are carefully articulated with the Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair and Auto Technology programs, allowing students to move on without repeating coursework.       Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair is an entry-level program designed to enable students to learn the skills essential to enter the field of automotive service. Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair Technicians have entry-level skills in a variety of service areas. Graduates will be employable in a variety of entry-level positions. Courses in this program are carefully articulated with the Automotive Technology program, allowing students to move on without repeating coursework. Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair technicians have entry-level skills in a variety of service areas. They are employable in a variety of entry-level positions.

     Automotive Technology teaches students high levels of technical understanding, current developments in the field such as electronic control systems and environmental issues, diagnostic capabilities, and proficiency with recommended service procedures. Automotive Technicians inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic parts of automobiles, trucks, industrial equipment, and other fuel-powered vehicles. Students in this program will be actively engaged in hands-on learning and prepared for a career in the automotive industry. Graduates will be prepared to seek employment in various automotive positions, including alignment specialist, rebuild/overhaul specialist, automotive technician apprentice, driveability technician, front-end technician, maintenance technician, and transmission technician.

     Nothing is more important to a mechanic than their hand tools. Typically workers have their own tools, and the more experienced workers have spent thousands of dollars on them. Students will be encouraged to purchase their own tools as part of the above programs, thus improving their employability after completing the program.
