Growing company with Vernal roots partnering with UBTech

ProPetro, a leading company specializing in fracing, wireline, and high-pressure cement pumping, has recently announced a partnership with Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech).

This collaboration will provide scholarship opportunities for residents of Duchesne, Daggett, and Uintah counties. It will cover 100 percent of the costs associated with certificate programs, including tuition, fees, and books.

The roots of ProPetro trace back to 2001 when founder Blinn Tenney established Big Four Cementing in Vernal. In 2007, ProPetro emerged, expanding its services to include cementing and fracing.

Since then, ProPetro has grown substantially, with operations across Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Texas, boasting a workforce of over 2,800 employees.

“Giving back is essential to our values,” said ProPetro Cement operations Vice President, Beau Tenney.

Tenney said this partnership not only involves financial contributions but also offers opportunities to train and expand the local workforce.

UBTech encourages its partners to engage with instructors and students to explore potential career opportunities.

“Having employers present on campus is invaluable, as it offers students a firsthand glimpse into potential career pathways and industry opportunities,” said Heather Lowry, Chief Development Officer at UBTech.

David Searle, Vernal Division Manager at ProPetro, said the company currently has five job openings in Vernal. He emphasized the unique aspects of these positions, which combine labor and driving components, requiring CDL drivers with mechanical skills, self-motivation, and strong work ethic.

Searle highlighted the impressive benefits package offered by ProPetro, including full benefits, daily bonuses, sign-on bonuses, and competitive wages.

In addition to offering scholarships, ProPetro has generously donated a Class B Semi to UBTech’s CDL program, providing students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience.

UBTech President Aaron Weight, expressed gratitude for ProPetro’s contributions, noting that the donations will significantly impact the lives of at least six families.

“We enjoy being involved in the community,” said Beau Tenney.

The partnership between ProPetro and UBTech not only demonstrates corporate responsibility but also fosters workforce development and educational opportunities within the region. Those interested in a career with ProPetro are encouraged to visit www.propetroservices.com.
